When ours parents were teenagers they didn't have computers and mobile phones. They used to read newspapers and listen to the radio. However, some of our parents know how to use computer and use it to make their life easier.

Theme 1- School

We attend The Maria SkÅ‚odowska- Curie Comprehensive School in Czechowice- Dziedzice. Our school isn’t very big - there are about 500 students and thirty-five teachers. We usually start school at 7:30am and finish at 3 pm. We  learn lots of subject, such as Polish, English, German, French, Maths, Physics, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, History, Economy, Knowledge about culture, Religious Studies, IT, PE and others..  After three years of learning at this type of school students finish their high – school education in Poland - they are obligated to write leaving exams from Polish, English and Math. If they only want, they can write tests from others subjects. Good marks are very important if you want attend university in the future. The number of points you score at the final exams decides if you get a place at university (or not). So, we must learn a lot ;).

Extra-curricular activities

The best point of any school is the fact that we can meet our friends every day. Our school also organizes extra activities for free. If we have a problem with understanding something or we want to learn more, we can attended extra Maths, English, German and French lessons. In addition, we can take part in sport, photography and computer graphic activities or in poetry 'evenings' almost every week.

However, there are some bad points of our school, of course. First, we have to get up early because we start lessons at 7:30 a.m. Next, we have lots of homework and tests..;/  We would like to change some equipment in our computer lab because the computers aren't new, unfortunately :(

As far as the opinions of a bit older generation are concerned, Justyna's grandmother said: "When I went to school we didn’t have computers or telephones. I went to school only for 4 years because I had to babysit – I looked after my brother and sister. Polish school has changed a lot."

Ula's mum said: "School now is far better that it was 25 years ago. We had to go to school on Saturdays and on the last day of a year. It was terrible!".
"And we didn't have any extra lessons, trips abroad or projects like Comenius :)"- added Basia's father.

"Studies helped me with finding a good job and in everyday life"-said Kinga's aunt.
"It was the best time of our life"- told us Magda's parents.
